Alongside the announcement of her upcoming solo album, Jane Inc has dropped her debut single, ‘Gem’. The album, Number One (due for a March 19^th 2021 release) touches on ideas of self-image and vulnerability, with a sense of optimism buried within. This single slots into that nicely, while merging uplifting disco-pop sound with dreamy, airy textures that add a sense of mystery to her brand of experimental pop. On the upcoming release, she says: “I think a lot of the songs on the album deal with how we form ourselves and how that gets fragmented and complicated by the societal structures we interact with.” -Dan Peeke
